Chopta is a small region of meadows and evergreen forest area which is a part of kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state, India and a base for trekking to Tungnath, third temple of Panch Kedar, which lies 3.5 kilometres away.
Day Wise Itinerary
Delhi to Rishikesh (220kms 6hour drive) Pickup Delhi Airport or Railway staion and drive to Rishikesh via Haridwar 6 hour drive, arrive Rishikesh check in Hotel, after check in evening free to visit Rishikesh. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.
Rishikesh to Chopta (175kms 6hour drive) Morning after breakfast drive to Chopta Sari village via Devprayag, Rudraprayg, Ukhimath. Arrive in Chopta check in Camp or Guest House. Overnight stay in camp or Guest House.
Chopta to Tungnath Chandrashila Back Chopta (6kms Trek one side) Moring drive to Tungnath trekking point and start trekking Tungnath Chandrashila (6kms approx. one side) Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is the highest of the five Punch Kedar Temples located in the mountain range of Tungnath in Rudraprayg district. Chandrasila is summit of the Tungnath. It literally means "Moon Rock". It is located at a height of About 4,100 meters above sea level. This peak provides views of the Himalayas, including Nanda Devi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandar punch and Chaukhamba peaks. After visit back to Chopta and overnight stay Dinner in Chopta Camp or Guest House or Home stay.
Chopta to Delhi Morning after breakfast check out and drive to Delhi arrive Delhi. drop to Airport or Railway staion tour end.

The best time to visit is March to June for pleasant weather and blooming meadows, and October to December for clear skies and snowfall. Avoid the monsoon season (July to September) due to slippery trails.
Chopta is accessible by road from cities like Rishikesh (160 km) and Haridwar (180 km). The nearest railway station is Haridwar, and the closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (approximately 210 km).
The Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and the trek to Chandrashila Peak for stunning 360-degree views of the Himalayas are highlights. The lush meadows of Chopta and nearby Deoria Tal Lake are also must-visit spots.
